An interesting build all around, this Woven Wood Bar was Random 8’s very first project using steam bending techniques. Walnut, highly figured cherry, white oak, and a solid surface product called Luminox make up this attractive built in bar.
You can see the backsplash is actually designed from end grain cuts with the intention of an organic stack of wood while undulating pieces serve as accent shelving for bottles and glassware. Though not visible in these photos, this unit also contains backlighting for fun accents that bring the bar to life when in use.
Random 8 takes pride in designing built in pieces without noticeable scribe work. This entire bar looks like it was built entirely in place utilizing lapping joints and tiered textures to create the illusion.
